Accessories and custom options
All rods come with a brushed aluminum tube and rod sock, custom made for whatever length the rod is. Also available at no extra charge are custom made rod tubes covered with navy codura cloth and carrying strap and embroidered in silver with "Gunpowder River Rods".

As a furniture maker, I also make custom presentation cases. All cases are made by hand, one-by-one. Presentation cases (see photos) are made of many domestic and a limited number of imported hardwoods. They are finger-joined, with brass piano legs, hinges and clasps and a leather handle and hinge stop. Cases are lined with deer skin. The case in the photos was made of figured walnut, we also have beautiful tiger maple, curly cherry and sapele mahogany available. Cases can be made from any available hardwood, quotes are available after sourcing the requested wood. A 50 inch case as seen in the photos is $400, and the lead time is about 3 weeks. We do not maintain an inventory of stock presentation cases.

Rods can be customized by wrap colors, reel seat wood, or up or down locking reel seat. All stock rods are up-locking design with mortised wood insert and a locking ring. In the past, we have custom wrapped rods in the colors of a Blue Heron, the Maryland State flag and various school colors. Stock grips are Flor-grade cork. Rattan wraps are also an option with an additional charge of $75. Rattan is a natural material and color variation is to be expected on each grip. Standard piping color is Carolina blue (see photo), other colors are available. Some stock rods have rattan grips at no additional charge.
